**CHENNAI, November 30, 2024** – A 24-year-old gold tester has been arrested for stealing over 3.6 kg of gold bars from a jewellery store in Chennai’s Elephant Gate area. Shubham Kripa Nagane, who worked at JDS Gold Testing on N.S.C. Bose Road, allegedly committed the theft on October 10th, fleeing the scene after stealing gold bars submitted by customers.

Following a police complaint, Nagane was tracked to his hometown in Maharashtra and apprehended. Authorities recovered a gold bar weighing slightly over 1 kg from his possession. Investigations revealed Nagane had an accomplice, who remains at large. Nagane was remanded in custody after appearing in court on November 29th. The police investigation continues.
