**NEW DELHI** – The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the answer key for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) exam on its website, ssc.nic.in. Candidates can access the key using their registration number and password. The exam was conducted between September 30 and November 19.
Along with the provisional answer key, the response sheets have also been released. Candidates have a window from 5 PM on November 29th to 5 PM on December 2nd to raise objections against the answer key. A fee of ₹100 will be charged per question challenged. The final answer key and results will be released after the objection window closes. Candidates are advised to download and retain a copy of their answer sheet as it will not be available after the deadline.
A record 17,93,680 candidates from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, under the SSC’s Central Region, registered for the exam. This constitutes 31.22% of the total 57,44,713 registrations nationwide. The recruitment drive aims to fill 9,583 vacancies – 6,144 MTS posts and 3,439 Havaldar posts. This is an increase from the initial 8,236 vacancies mentioned in the original notification.
Candidates will be assessed based on their performance in both session I and II of the computer-based test (CBT). Session II evaluation will only take place if candidates pass session I. 20% of posts are reserved for SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates. Salaries will be based on Pay Level-1 under the 7th Pay Commission. Shortlisting for the MTS positions will be based on CBT Session II performance. For Havaldar posts, a 1:7 ratio (vacancies:candidates) will be used for Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test (PET/PST) eligibility, followed by CBT Session II assessment.
