**Indore, India (November 30, 2024):** Madhya Pradesh will take center stage in India’s fight against HIV/AIDS as it hosts the national commemoration of World AIDS Day on December 1st. The event, held at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore, will be inaugurated by Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.

This year’s observance aligns with the UNAIDS theme, “Take the Rights Path,” focusing on rights-based approaches to treatment and eliminating discrimination against those affected by HIV/AIDS. The event will feature an exhibition showcasing NACO’s digital ecosystem and community engagement efforts, along with a live performance of NACO’s new theme song by Dev Negi, Moko Koza, and Agsy. Beneficiaries will share their stories, and several key documents, including the 6th edition of SANKALAK and the India HIV Estimates 2023 report, will be released.

The event aims to foster collaboration among communities, youth, organizations, and policymakers to accelerate progress towards the global goal of ending HIV/AIDS by 2030. A nationwide livestream will ensure broad participation. The event will bring together diverse stakeholders, including government representatives, civil society organizations, communities, youth, and development partners.
