**Pune, [Date]:** Pune MP and Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol has proposed a new Vande Bharat sleeper train connecting Pune and Delhi, citing high passenger demand on the busy route. The proposal, presented to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during a recent meeting in Delhi, emphasizes the need for faster and more comfortable travel options.
Mohol’s requests extend beyond the Delhi route. He also advocated for Vande Bharat trains on the Pune-Solapur, Pune-Nashik, and Pune-Kolhapur lines, as well as increased frequency on the Pune-Jodhpur route.
Beyond rail improvements, Mohol raised concerns about Pune’s broadcasting infrastructure. He urged the relocation of All India Radio (AIR) Pune’s broadcast management from Mumbai to Pune, the launch of a dedicated Rainbow radio channel for the city, modernization of the station, and filling vacant programming positions. He also requested upgrades to the facilities at Pune’s Doordarshan (DD) center.
Minister Vaishnaw responded positively, instructing officials to address the issues and promising prompt action on railway and broadcasting matters. Mohol also congratulated Vaishnaw on his role in the recent Maharashtra Assembly elections.
