**TIRUPPUR, November 30, 2024** – A Monitoring Committee has been formed to oversee the safety of tourists at the newly opened Andipalayam Lake boathouse in Tiruppur district, Tamil Nadu. The committee, headed by the Tiruppur Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Mohanasundaram, includes representatives from the Tiruppur City Corporation, Water Resources Department, Fire and Rescue Services, Police Department, and the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.
The ₹1.50 crore boathouse, built by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department, features 13 boats, a ticket counter, restaurant, coffee shop, and children’s park. Located on a 58-acre lake along Mangalam Road, the popular spot is attracting increasing numbers of visitors. The committee’s first meeting focused on outlining and implementing comprehensive safety measures at the site. The initiative follows a directive from District Collector T. Christuraj to ensure visitor safety at the picturesque water body.
