Sat Nov 30 17:50:56 UTC 2024: ## Mayawati Urges Parliament to Prioritize National Issues Over Partisan Politics

**Lucknow, November 30, 2024** – Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati has called on both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition to prioritize pressing national issues over partisan squabbling during the Winter Session of Parliament. In a statement released following a meeting with Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand party leaders in Lucknow, Mayawati emphasized the need for Parliament to focus on the broader interests of the people.

Criticizing both the BJP and the Congress, Mayawati accused them of employing divisive tactics to distract from fundamental issues like unemployment, poverty, and inflation. She specifically targeted the BJP, alleging that they fail to address these issues after attaining power, forgetting election promises. The BSP leader further criticized the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government for prioritizing divisive religious agendas, while crucial issues such as unemployment, economic hardship, and lack of education continue to plague the state and neighboring Uttarakhand.

Mayawati also urged her party to intensify efforts to unite Dalit and Ambedkarite communities for political empowerment, calling for a strengthened struggle to liberate society from the grip of casteist and communal elements.
