**Chennai, December 1, 2024** – The Tamil Nadu Health Department will conduct 500 free medical camps across seven rain-affected districts on Sunday, December 1st. The initiative, announced by Health Minister Ma. Subramanian, aims to provide basic health screenings and treatment in the wake of recent heavy rainfall.
The majority of the camps, 200 in total, will be located in Chennai. The remaining 300 will be distributed across Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, and Cuddalore districts, with 50 camps in each. District health officers have been instructed to increase the number of camps based on local needs.
The camps, which will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will offer basic health screenings for fever, cold, blood pressure, and diabetes. Adequate supplies of essential medicines, including those for treating these conditions and oral rehydration salts, have been instructed to be made available.
Minister Subramanian urged the public to take advantage of these free medical services.
