**Visakhapatnam, Nov 29, 2024** – Panic gripped passengers on a Visakhapatnam RTC bus Friday night after three women reported being attacked with an unknown substance by an unidentified man near Kancharapalem ITI Junction. While social media initially reported the incident as an acid attack, police investigations suggest otherwise.

The incident occurred around 10 pm as the bus travelled from Visakhapatnam to Gidijala. The women screamed, causing the driver to stop the bus. Local residents helped transport the three women to a nearby hospital. Kancharapalem CI Chandrasekhar arrived at the scene to investigate, determining that the substance was not acid. However, the women complained of burning eyes and were transferred to another hospital for better treatment.

The suspect fled the scene immediately. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify him. The incident caused a one-hour traffic jam before police were able to clear the road.

While police initially clarified that it wasn’t an acid attack, the incident caused widespread concern and highlights safety concerns for female passengers on public transport. The investigation is ongoing.
