**Mukkam, Kerala:** Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, newly elected Congress MP for Wayanad, addressed a massive crowd in Kerala today, expressing gratitude for her resounding victory in the recent by-election. She secured a margin exceeding four lakh votes, surpassing even her brother Rahul Gandhi’s previous win in the constituency.
Speaking alongside Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Priyanka emphasized her commitment to representing the voices and concerns of her constituents. “I am in parliament for you,” she declared, promising to advocate for their needs and aspirations. She highlighted the importance of representing the “sentiment in the hearts of the people of Wayanad,” stressing that her role extends beyond individual representation.
Rahul Gandhi echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that they both embody the trust placed in them by the people of Wayanad. He noted that while they take individual oaths as MPs, their true function is to represent the collective feelings of their constituency.
Priyanka Gandhi’s victory followed Rahul Gandhi’s decision to retain his Uttar Pradesh seat after winning both Wayanad and Raebareli in the general elections earlier this year.
