Sat Nov 30 16:51:23 UTC 2024: ## Young IPL Star Vaibhav Suryavanshi Dismissed for One Run in Asia Cup

**CHENNAI, INDIA** – Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest player ever to be drafted into the Indian Premier League (IPL), had a disappointing start to the Under-19 Asia Cup. The 13-year-old, who became a millionaire after the Rajasthan Royals bought him for ₹1.10 crore, was dismissed for just one run against Pakistan.

Suryavanshi, already a sensation in junior cricket circles for scoring a century off just 58 balls against Australia Under-19 in October, managed only nine deliveries before being caught off the bowling of Pakistan’s Ali Raja.

Pakistan, batting first, posted a challenging 281 runs, with Shazaib Khan scoring a magnificent 159. India, in response, found themselves struggling at 40/2 after 10 overs, facing a steep chase. Despite his early exit, Suryavanshi’s IPL selection remains a remarkable achievement, cementing his place in cricket history as the youngest player in the league’s history.
