Sat Nov 30 13:38:40 UTC 2024: ## Triple Homicide in Tiruppur Spurs Investigation and Gun License Demand

**TIRUPPUR, November 30, 2024** – A triple homicide in Semalai Goundenpalayam village near Palladam, Tiruppur district, has left investigators scrambling for answers. Deivasigamani (78), his wife Alamelu (75), and their son Senthilkumar (46), an IT professional, were found dead on Friday with head injuries. Police have confirmed that the assailants stole eight sovereigns of jewellery and Senthilkumar’s mobile phone.

While a farm worker, Balamurugan, was questioned and released, the investigation is hampered by the lack of CCTV footage in the area. Police are exploring several avenues, including questioning local history-sheeters and investigating potential past enmities.

The incident has reignited calls for increased farmer safety. A delegation from the Tamil Nadu Farmers’ Protection Movement petitioned the Avinashipalayam police, demanding gun licenses for farmers, citing a similar quadruple homicide in Kallakinar village in September 2023. The investigation is ongoing.
