**Hyderabad, November 30, 2024** – A joint operation by the Hyderabad East Zone Commissioner’s Task Force and Humayun Nagar police led to the arrest of six individuals, including two transporters, on Friday. Authorities seized 14.5 kilograms of ganja and six mobile phones worth ₹3.90 lakh.
The accused, identified as Hazari Dinesh Singh (alias Tinku Singh), Susheel Singh, Mukesh Singh, Shiv Singh, Ajit Nayak, and Jishesh Mali (alias Jelu), are facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police investigations revealed that Dinesh Singh, a repeat offender with a history of drug-related arrests across various Hyderabad locations, orchestrated the operation. He sourced the ganja from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, distributing it through a network of sub-peddlers in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas. This particular shipment originated from a supplier named Kunu in Odisha’s Gajapati district, with Nayak and Mali acting as transporters. The arrests followed a tip-off, with the exchange taking place under police surveillance.
The investigation is ongoing, with police aiming to dismantle the entire network and apprehend any remaining participants.
