Sat Nov 30 12:02:31 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Agrees to Hybrid Model for 2025 Champions Trophy, with Conditions

**Dubai/Lahore** – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly agreed to a hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy, ceding to Indian concerns about security. While no official announcement has been made by the ICC or PCB, reports indicate that India will play its matches in the UAE, a compromise aimed at alleviating security concerns.

The PCB has reportedly attached three conditions to its agreement: all Indian matches, including potential semi-finals and the final, will be played in Dubai. If India fails to progress past the group stage, Pakistan will host the remaining knockout stages in Lahore. Finally, Pakistan demands reciprocal treatment, with its matches being played at neutral venues should India host future ICC events.

These developments follow a meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Emirates Cricket Board head Mubashir Usmani in Dubai. While the PCB maintains that preparations for hosting the tournament in Pakistan are on schedule and that security will be robust, the hybrid model appears to be the solution to ensure India’s participation. Naqvi reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to host the tournament and emphasized the country’s commitment to providing top-tier security for all participating teams.
