**Bengaluru, India – November 30, 2024** – Karnataka is actively courting investment from UK universities for its ambitious KWIN City initiative, according to Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil. During a UK roadshow promoting the upcoming Invest Karnataka 2025 exposition (February 12-14), Patil held meetings with representatives from several prominent UK universities, including Liverpool, East London, York, and Wolverhampton. The universities expressed strong interest in establishing campuses within KWIN City.
Patil also met with Gareth Thomas, UK Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Services, Small Businesses and Exports, to discuss strengthening Karnataka’s position as a global education hub. A roundtable discussion with members of the Russell Group of Universities further highlighted opportunities for foreign institutions to establish a presence in the state.
Invest Karnataka 2025 aims to showcase Karnataka as a prime investment destination, fostering collaborations and driving innovation across various sectors. The KWIN City project is a key component of this strategy, seeking to attract international educational institutions to bolster the state’s economy and educational landscape.
