**Bengaluru, November 30, 2024** – A 28-year-old man, Manish Ratnakar, has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly attacking his flatmate’s cat. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday night in a BTM Layout apartment, sparked outrage after a video of the injured animal went viral on social media.
Ratnakar reportedly attacked Mohammed Aftab’s pet cat after it defecated in his room. He subsequently denied knowing the cat’s whereabouts, but Aftab later found the bleeding animal in a bucket on the terrace. Ratnakar confessed to kicking the cat out of anger.
The cat received veterinary treatment, and based on Aftab’s complaint, the Mico Layout police booked Ratnakar under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. The incident highlights the ongoing issue of animal abuse and the power of social media in bringing such cases to light.
