**Bengaluru, India** – A man has been arrested in Bengaluru for the murder of his vlogger girlfriend, Maya Gogoi, whose body was discovered in a service apartment earlier this week. Aarav Hanoy, Gogoi’s boyfriend, allegedly killed her following a relationship dispute and then spent two days with her corpse before fleeing.
Police say Gogoi, a vlogger from Assam, was killed after attempting to end her six-month relationship with Hanoy, whom she met on social media. Following the murder, Hanoy embarked on a cross-country escape, traveling through North Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh before returning to Bengaluru on Friday. He was apprehended near the city’s airport.
Deputy Commissioner of Police D Devraj stated that Hanoy spent the majority of those two days smoking cigarettes in the apartment with Gogoi’s body. Gogoi’s sister reported her missing after receiving misleading messages about office parties.
A massive manhunt involving three police teams was launched to track down Hanoy. He initially deactivated his phone after taking a taxi from the service apartment.
Hanoy is currently in custody and facing murder charges. The investigation is ongoing.
