**Dubai, UAE** – The future of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be held in Pakistan, has been secured following a resolution between the BCCI, PCB, and ICC. The tournament will proceed using a hybrid model, addressing concerns raised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the safety and security of the Indian team in Pakistan.
The BCCI had previously stated that the Indian team would not travel to Pakistan for the tournament, prompting threats from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to boycott ICC tournaments held in India. A compromise has now been reached, with the matches involving India being played in a neutral venue – Dubai, UAE. The semi-finals and final will also be held in Dubai, should India reach those stages of the competition.
Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif confirmed the agreement, stating that the hosting rights will remain with Pakistan, but India’s matches will be relocated to ensure their participation. The tournament is still slated for February-March 2025. This hybrid model appears to satisfy all parties, avoiding the potential cancellation of the Champions Trophy.
