**Dubai, November 29, 2024:** The International Cricket Council (ICC) is facing a potential crisis regarding the hosting of the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Following the Indian government’s advice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) citing security concerns, India has refused to send its team to Pakistan for the tournament.

The BCCI officially informed the ICC of India’s decision, prompting the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to demand a written explanation and reject a proposed “hybrid model” – which would have seen some matches played in other countries.

An emergency ICC board meeting scheduled for Friday was postponed until Saturday after only 15 minutes. However, late-night reports suggest that all ICC member countries support India’s stance and are amenable to a hybrid model to ensure the tournament proceeds. Pakistan now faces the choice of accepting the hybrid model or risking the tournament being moved from the country altogether. Saturday’s meeting is now crucial to determine the future of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
