**Bengaluru, November 29, 2024** – Ten directors of the Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Society (HOPCOMS), including the president and vice-president, have been disqualified for five years for violating cooperative norms. The Joint Registrar of Co-operatives, Bengaluru Region, Ashwathnarayana, issued the order on November 28.
The disqualified directors are President H.K. Nagaveni, Vice-President A.S. Chandre Gowda, and eight others. The action follows an inquiry into allegations of norm violations, including unauthorized share transfers to appoint new associate members. The inquiry report, submitted on February 14, 2023, revealed that the directors failed to take appropriate corrective action. The order bars them from serving as directors on any cooperative society for the next five years.
