**Chennai, November 30, 2024** – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced today that the state’s HIV/AIDS prevalence rate has dropped to 0.16%, lower than the national average of 0.23%. Attributing this success to the combined efforts of the state government and NGOs, Mr. Stalin released a statement ahead of World AIDS Day (December 1st).
This year’s World AIDS Day theme, “Take the Rights Path,” emphasizes the importance of recognizing individual rights in controlling the spread of HIV. Mr. Stalin urged citizens to pledge their support in eradicating HIV/AIDS in Tamil Nadu and to show compassion and support to those living with the condition.
