**New Delhi, November 30, 2024** – Delhi residents woke up to another day of severely polluted air on Saturday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 351, categorized as “very poor.” This comes as the city also experienced its second-coldest morning of the season, with a minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius.
According to the Sameer app, which provides hourly AQI updates based on CPCB data, the air quality remained in the “very poor” range throughout the morning. This follows a trend of worsening air quality during the winter months.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts mainly clear skies for the remainder of the day, with a maximum temperature expected to reach around 26 degrees Celsius. However, the high humidity level of 97% recorded at 8:30 AM is likely to exacerbate the impact of the pollutants.
This November has been exceptionally warm, marking the warmest November in the last five years. The average minimum temperature was 14.9 degrees Celsius, nearly 2 degrees above the long-period average, and the average maximum temperature was 29.5 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees above average. This makes it the warmest November since 2019.
