**Chennai, Tamil Nadu, November 30, 2024** – Cyclone Fengal made landfall this evening between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported wind speeds of 70-80 km/h, gusting up to 90 km/h.

Chennai’s airport temporarily suspended operations until 7 pm due to the severe weather, while local train services were significantly reduced. Several districts, including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Kallakurichi, and Cuddalore, along with Puducherry, experienced heavy rainfall leading to significant waterlogging in many areas, particularly in Chennai’s Arumbakkam.
