**THOOTHUKUDI, November 30, 2024** – As part of the recently concluded World Heritage Week (November 19-25), 150 teachers from Thoothukudi district embarked on a one-day educational trip to Madurai and the Keeladi excavation site. The trip, organized by the Tamil Nadu Department of Archaeology and the Sivakalai Archaeological Association, aimed to foster awareness and appreciation for heritage preservation among educators. The initiative builds on the state government’s broader World Heritage Week program, which included free entry to monuments and outreach to students and educators. Thoothukudi Collector K. Elambahavath officially flagged off the trip on Saturday.
