**Dehradun, [Date]:** Rajya Sabha MP and Uttarakhand BJP President Mahendra Bhatt raised crucial questions regarding BSNL network, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV), and youth hostels in the Rajya Sabha. The central government responded with plans to improve infrastructure and services.
Bhatt questioned the poor state of BSNL telecom services in Uttarakhand. The Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Pema Khandu, responded that BSNL services meet TRAI standards. He further revealed that 1183 4G sites are operational in Uttarakhand, with an additional 644 towers (including upgraded sites) planned, 218 of which are already active.
Regarding Kendriya Vidyalayas, Bhatt inquired about establishing new schools in remote areas. The government stated that 4 proposals for new KVs in Uttarakhand are under consideration, in addition to the existing 45.
Finally, Bhatt sought information on youth hostels under the Yuva Chhatrawas Yojana. Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, clarified that state governments are responsible for their maintenance. States can seek central funding or explore CSR initiatives for significant repairs or renovations.
