**Ranchi, India:** Ishan Kishan etched his name in the record books during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on November 29th, delivering a breathtaking innings that propelled Jharkhand to a world record. Facing Arunachal Pradesh, who were bowled out for a paltry 93 runs, Kishan smashed 77 runs off just 23 balls, achieving a phenomenal strike rate of 334.78.

This strike rate is the highest ever in the tournament’s history for a player facing over 20 balls, narrowly surpassing Anmolpreet Singh’s previous record. It’s also the second-fastest ever by an Indian, second only to Suresh Raina’s 25-ball 87.

Kishan’s explosive performance, featuring five fours and nine sixes, led Jharkhand to chase down the target in a mere 27 balls. This resulted in a run rate of 20.88, the highest ever in T20 cricket history for a team playing at least one over, surpassing Romania’s previous record of 20.47. He was consequently awarded the Player of the Match.

Arunachal Pradesh’s innings was a short-lived affair, with no batsman managing more than 14 runs. Roy, recently acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL auction, further cemented his rising star status.
