NEW DELHI – Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, prominent Congress leader, was sworn in as a Member of Parliament (MP) on Thursday. She recently won the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala in a by-election. Ms. Gandhi, dressed in a traditional Kasavu saree, took the oath of office before Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, holding a copy of the Indian Constitution. Her brother, Rahul Gandhi, captured the moment with a photograph.
This marks the presence of three members of the Gandhi-Nehru family in Parliament simultaneously – Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and now Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
