**Kochi, Kerala – November 28, 2024** – The Kerala High Court has directed the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to prevent pilgrims from engaging in certain practices at the Malikappuram temple in Sabarimala. These practices, deemed non-customary, include throwing clothes on the temple roof, applying turmeric powder to its walls, and rolling coconuts around it. The court’s decision follows a report from the Sabarimala Special Commissioner, R. Jayakrishnan.
The TDB is mandated to issue advisories via the Virtual-Q platform and through print and visual media, urging pilgrims to refrain from these actions.
Furthermore, the court has banned photography and videography at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam, specifically at the Pathinettampadi and Thirumuttam, except during official ceremonies and festivals. This prohibition extends to pilgrims and vloggers. Authorities have confirmed that action will be taken against police personnel involved in a recent unauthorized photoshoot at the Pathinettampadi.
