**Vijayawada, November 28, 2024** – Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, State general secretary of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), vehemently denied accusations of character assassination and asserted his innocence against charges filed by the Tirupati police. Addressing a press conference today, Reddy stated that the cases, filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and multiple sections of the SC, ST, and IT Acts, are politically motivated and aimed at damaging his reputation.

Reddy claims the case, filed 22 days after an assault on a minor girl in Chandragiri constituency, is a result of vindictive politics by the ruling coalition government. He refutes claims that he spoke to the media about the incident, stating his involvement was limited to ensuring the victim received proper medical care after a call from her father. He provided video evidence of the father’s statement to the media, where the father called for action against the perpetrators. Reddy also noted that the girl was later transferred to a Tirupati hospital for better treatment with the help of fellow YSRCP leader Nagarjuna Reddy.

Reddy further accused TDP-friendly media outlets of spreading false allegations to tarnish his image. He announced his intention to file defamation cases against the police officials and challenge the charges in court, asserting his readiness to legally prove his innocence.
