Thu Nov 28 04:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Badgers Volleyball Set for Big Ten Showdown Against Ohio State
**MADISON, Wis. (November 25, 2024)** – The Wisconsin Badgers volleyball team returns to the friendly confines of the UW Field House on Wednesday for a highly anticipated Big Ten match against the Ohio State Buckeyes. The match, set to begin at 7:30 p.m., will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
The Badgers enter the contest with a 20-5 overall record, having recently reached the 20-win mark for the 35th time in program history. This milestone reflects Coach Kelly Sheffield’s consistent success, marking his 14th consecutive season with 20+ wins. However, the team is coming off a weekend split, securing a thrilling five-set victory over No. 16 Minnesota before suffering a sweep at the hands of No. 2 Nebraska – their first home loss since 2022. The Nebraska sweep marked the first time the Huskers have swept a series against Wisconsin since 2012.
Adding to the week’s news, Badger seniors Devyn Robinson and CC Crawford were drafted into the Pro Volleyball Federation. Robinson was a first-round pick (5th overall) for the San Diego Mojo, while Crawford was selected in the second round (16th overall) by the Indy Ignite.
The Badgers have faced injury challenges, with Lola Schumacher and Gulce Guctekin sidelined. Saige Damrow has stepped up admirably, earning her third consecutive start at libero, alongside Maile Chan and Carly Anderson. The trio combined for 16 digs in the Nebraska match.
Wisconsin boasts a dominant home record, posting a 76-8 mark at the UW Field House over the past five years, including a 13-1 record in NCAA tournament matches hosted there.
Ohio State presents a formidable challenge with a 14-14 overall record and 7-11 Big Ten mark. While Wisconsin holds a significant historical advantage (45-39), the Buckeyes are coming off a 3-2 win over Indiana and pose a threat with Emily Londot’s potent offense (second in the Big Ten in kills per set) and Olivia Hasbrook’s strong defense (fifth in the Big Ten in digs per set). The Badgers haven’t lost to the Buckeyes since 2019.
