Thu Nov 28 04:05:46 UTC 2024: ## England Call Up Durham Wicketkeeper Robinson for Injured Cox

**Christchurch, New Zealand –** England have drafted in Durham wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson to their Test squad for the ongoing tour of New Zealand, following an injury to Jordan Cox. Cox fractured his right thumb during a warm-up match against a Prime Minister’s XI and has been ruled out of the series.

The injury leaves England shorthanded behind the stumps, with regular keeper-batsman Jamie Smith already absent on paternity leave. Ollie Pope filled in for the opening Test in Christchurch, which began on Thursday.

Robinson, who is *not* the England fast bowler of the same name, was a strong contender for the wicketkeeping role earlier this year. His impressive form for Durham, including nine first-class centuries and a 53 average since joining the club, as well as 92 dismissals, made him a logical choice for the replacement.

Robinson will now be considered for selection in the second Test, starting in Wellington on December 6th.
