Wed Nov 27 18:42:45 UTC 2024: ## FBI Investigating Bomb Threats Against Trump Nominees

**Washington D.C.** – The FBI is investigating a series of bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting several nominees for key positions in Donald Trump’s incoming administration. The threats were confirmed by Karoline Leavitt, spokeswoman for Trump’s transition team, who described them as “violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them.”

While Leavitt did not disclose the names of all affected nominees, at least one, Elise Stefanik, Trump’s nominee for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, publicly confirmed a bomb threat against her New York residence. Stefanik stated that she, her husband, and young son were returning home from Washington D.C. for Thanksgiving when they learned of the threat.

The FBI confirmed its awareness of the multiple bomb threats and swatting incidents, stating that it takes all potential threats seriously. Swatting, the practice of making false reports to emergency services to trigger a police response, was among the tactics used. The investigation is ongoing.
