Tue Nov 26 16:36:07 UTC 2024: ## Mahindra Unveils Two New Electric SUVs: XEV 9e and BE 6e

**Chennai, India –** Mahindra & Mahindra made a significant splash in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market Tuesday evening with the launch of two new all-electric SUVs: the Mahindra XEV 9e and the Mahindra BE 6e. This marks the company’s first major foray into the all-electric segment beyond its previous offering, the XUV400.

The XEV 9e, positioned as a premium SUV, boasts a starting price of ₹21.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the BE 6e, targeting a broader market, is priced at ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). These prices, described as potentially introductory, are significantly lower than market expectations. Both prices are for the base “Pack 1” versions; pricing for higher trims will be announced later. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in February 2025.

Key features across both models include a Harman Kardon sound system with Mahindra Sonic Studio, 0-100 kmph acceleration in under 7 seconds (6.8 seconds for XEV 9e and 6.7 seconds for BE 6e), and a claimed real-world range of approximately 500 kilometers for the 79 kWh battery pack (XEV 9e). Mahindra is offering a lifetime battery warranty for first-time private owners, extending to 10 years or 200,000 km for subsequent owners. Fast charging capabilities allow for a 20-80% charge in 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger. The SUVs also boast impressive cooling systems, claiming 40% faster cabin cooling than comparable models.

Design-wise, the XEV 9e showcases a sleek, futuristic aesthetic with jewel-like headlights, a glowing logo, and an expansive interior. The BE 6e features a more aggressive design, inspired by fighter jets. Both SUVs offer spacious interiors, panoramic sunroofs, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The XEV 9e will be available in Tango Red, Everest White, and Desert Myst, while the BE 6e offers Tango Red, Firestorm Orange, White Satin, and Desert Myst.

Mahindra emphasized that the XEV and BE brands cater to distinct buyer profiles, with XEV representing a more premium offering. Both models are built on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform, an electric-only platform designed for performance, efficiency, and design flexibility.

Bookings are now open through Mahindra’s existing showrooms and online channels. The company aims to disrupt the EV market with these competitively priced, feature-rich SUVs.
