Wed Nov 27 13:20:09 UTC 2024: ## Man Murders Elderly Man in Revenge Killing 14 Years in the Making

**Shivamogga, Karnataka, November 27, 2024** – A 25-year-old man, Murthy, was arrested on Tuesday for the murder of 75-year-old Nirvanappa in Dadadahalli village, Arkalgud taluk. The killing is reportedly an act of revenge for the murder of Murthy’s father, Lakkaiah, 14 years ago.

Lakkaiah was killed by Nirvanappa during a property dispute. Nirvanappa served a seven-year prison sentence for the crime and had recently been released. He was in Dadadahalli to obtain death certificates for his parents when he was attacked and killed by Murthy.

Nirvanappa is survived by three sons and a daughter. Arkalgud Police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by Nirvanappa’s son, Kumara. Murthy is currently in police custody.
