**KOCHI, November 26, 2024** – Aluva educational sub-district maintained its dominant position on the second day of the Ernakulam District School Arts Festival, held in Kuruppampady near Perumbavoor. With a total of 367 points, Aluva secured the top spot, surpassing Ernakulam (355 points) and the host sub-district, Perumbavoor (348 points).
The competition was fierce across various categories. In the school category, Vidyadhiraja Vidyabhavan, Aluva, led with 135 points. Results varied across age groups, with Perumbavoor taking the lead in the upper primary (general) category and Ernakulam leading in high school (general). Aluva regained its lead in the higher secondary (general) category. Interestingly, a three-way tie for first place occurred in the Sanskrit fest (upper primary) between Perumbavoor, Ernakulam, and North Paravur, each scoring 50 points. A similar tie emerged in the Arabic fest (upper primary), with seven sub-districts sharing the top spot at 15 points each. The festival showcased a wide range of talent, from Oppana performances (where St. Francis HSS, Aluva, secured first place in the upper primary category) to Kathakali. The festival continues.
