Wed Nov 27 14:28:26 UTC 2024: ## Kolkata’s Mohammedan SC Seeks First Home Win Against Bengaluru FC in ISL Clash
**Kolkata, November 27 (HS):** Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) will face Bengaluru FC on Wednesday evening at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, hoping to secure their first home victory in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. Currently languishing in 12th place with five points from seven matches (one win, two draws, four losses), MSC is facing a tough challenge against a strong Bengaluru FC side.
Bengaluru, sitting comfortably in second place with 17 points from eight matches (five wins, two draws, one loss), presents a formidable opponent. MSC’s home record is particularly concerning, having drawn one and lost three of their opening four home games. A loss would mark an unwanted record as no team has gone winless in their first five home matches. Further compounding the issue, MSC has conceded four goals within the first 15 minutes of matches – the most in the ISL this season.
A victory for Bengaluru would mark the second time they’ve achieved 20+ points after their first nine games of an ISL season. However, Bengaluru also has a mixed record against new opponents, drawing and losing two of their last five matches against previously unplayed teams.
Both coaches expressed their views on the upcoming match. Mohammedan’s Russian head coach, Andrey Chernyshov, praised Bengaluru’s strength and impressive start to the season, while Bengaluru’s Spanish head coach, Gerard Zaragoza, highlighted his team’s focused training during the international break. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the ISL.
