Tue Nov 26 04:53:19 UTC 2024: ## Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation Launches “Constitution at Every Home” Initiative
**Vasai, Maharashtra:** The Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) is launching a year-long initiative, “Constitution at Every Home,” to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. A meeting chaired by VVCMC Commissioner Anil Kumar Pawar on November 22nd, attended by all municipal officers and staff, outlined plans for the program, which will run from 2024-2025.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the Constitution’s importance and its values among all sections of society. A “Constitution at Every Home Committee,” co-chaired by Additional Commissioners Ramesh Manale (North) and Sanjay Herwade (South), has been formed to oversee the year-long program, which will include various events at the municipal and ward levels.
Events planned include a collective reading of the Preamble to the Constitution in all municipal offices on November 26th, Constitution Day. Rallies involving school and college students will also be organized on the same day to promote awareness of constitutional rights and duties. Essay and elocution competitions focusing on the Indian Constitution will be held in schools and colleges on Republic Day. Further initiatives planned include collective readings of the Preamble on all national holidays and street plays performed by women’s self-help groups to promote constitutional values.
The VVCMC urged all citizens to participate enthusiastically in the Constitution’s Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to strengthen democracy.
