Tue Nov 26 03:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Utpanna Ekadashi 2024: Devotees to Observe Auspicious Fast on November 26th

**NEW DELHI –** Hindus across the country will observe Utpanna Ekadashi, a highly auspicious day, on November 26th, 2024. The fast, which begins at 1:01 AM and concludes at 3:47 AM on November 27th, commemorates the origin of Ekadashi and is believed to bring prosperity and peace to those who observe it with devotion.

According to religious texts, worshipping Lord Vishnu on this day is particularly auspicious. Offerings of specific items are considered particularly pleasing to the deity. These include:

* **Yellow Offerings:** Lord Vishnu is associated with the color yellow, making yellow fruits like bananas and yellow sweets ideal offerings.
* **Panchamrit:** A mixture of milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, and sugar, enhanced with Tulsi (holy basil) leaves, is a traditional and highly recommended offering.
* **Coconut:** Symbolizing Lord Vishnu, offering a coconut is believed to promote positivity and family well-being.

Beyond offerings, lighting a Panchamukhi Diya (five-faced lamp) is also recommended. This represents the five paths to spiritual fulfillment: devotion, success, liberation, merit, and the fruits of karma.

In addition to the religious observances, devotees are encouraged to perform acts of charity, such as donating clothes, money, or food to the needy.

Utpanna Ekadashi is a day for reflection, devotion, and seeking blessings from Lord Vishnu. The fast is followed by prayers, devotional singing, and the offering of Prasad (sacred food).
