**Scottsdale, AZ –** Former NHL player and current NHL on TNT analyst Paul Bissonnette was hospitalized after being assaulted outside a Scottsdale restaurant Sunday night. Scottsdale Police confirmed that Bissonnette, who played for the Phoenix Coyotes from 2009-2014, intervened in an altercation between three men and restaurant management at Houston’s. In the process of trying to de-escalate the situation and get the men to leave, Bissonnette was assaulted both inside and outside the establishment.
Police arrested all three men involved in the initial altercation, along with three others, on charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Bissonnette was transported to a hospital for evaluation, but his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Bissonnette, known for his work as a radio and TV analyst for the Coyotes and as a co-host of the Barstool Sports podcast “Spittin’ Chiclets,” is recovering from the incident.
