**Jaipur, [Date]** – With his government’s first anniversary approaching, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhanwarlal Sharma held a review meeting of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) on Friday. The CM emphasized the state government’s commitment to providing clean drinking water to every citizen. He directed departmental officials to expedite ongoing projects and utilize central and state funds efficiently.
Principal Secretary (PHED), Bhaskar A. Sawant, briefed the CM on the progress of departmental schemes and budget allocations. Sharma highlighted the significant achievement of providing 10.32 lakh water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission in just 11 months. He also stressed the need for timely completion of projects under the central government’s Amrit 2.0 scheme for urban water supply.
Addressing the issue of vacancies within the PHED, the Chief Minister announced plans to fill over 12,000 vacant positions across various categories (gazetted, ungazetted, technical, and class IV). He further instructed officials to accelerate the recruitment process for an additional 3,500 posts currently underway. The CM also ordered a crackdown on illegal water connections across the state. The government aims to provide employment opportunities for Rajasthan’s youth, making this recruitment drive a key priority.
