**Lucknow, [Date]:** A divisional Para sports meet held in Lucknow saw participation from nearly 200 athletes, both men and women, representing Lucknow, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, and Raebareli. The event featured athletics, bench press powerlifting, and badminton competitions.
Athletes from the Sparsh Rajkiya School dominated the athletics events. Several athletes achieved “golden doubles,” winning two gold medals each. These included Bhavana and Supriya (in the junior category), Raman Kumar and Pratiksha (in the junior category), and Sonika Kumari (senior category). Other notable performances included Pradeep (KD Singh Babu Stadium trainee), who won gold in the 800m and 1500m races, and Girendra Pal from Sitapur, who won gold in the 100m and 400m races despite having a disability.
Justice Manish Kumar of the High Court and SK Garg, Chairman of the Dr. KL Garg Charitable Trust, were among the dignitaries who presented medals and certificates to the winners.
The secretary and president of the Para Sports Association Lucknow, Dr. Sudha Bajpayee and Narendra Singh Chauhan respectively, stated that the participation exceeded expectations. They also announced plans for upcoming state-level Para games in Lucknow. The event concluded with a performance by Indian Idol fame singer Kuldeep Singh Chauhan. Numerous other dignitaries attended the event.
