Tue Nov 26 10:13:16 UTC 2024: **Pakistan’s Bowlers Dominate as Zimbabwe Falters in ODI Series Opener**
HARARE, ZIMBABWE – Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a masterclass in the opening ODI against Zimbabwe, dismantling the home side for a paltry 145 runs. Debutant Abrar Ahmed led the charge, claiming four wickets, while Salman Agha added three more to leave the Zimbabwean batsmen bewildered. Saim Ayub and Faisal Akram each contributed a wicket to complete a comprehensive bowling performance.
Despite Dion Myers’ impressive display of strokeplay, the Zimbabwean batting order failed to build any significant partnerships, collapsing regularly throughout their innings. They never recovered momentum after key wickets fell, leaving them well short of a competitive total. Blessing Muzarabani’s late-innings six offered a fleeting moment of hope, but it proved too little, too late as Pakistan bundled them out for 145.
While Pakistan’s bowling was impeccable, their own batting performance in the first ODI will be a cause for concern. The question now is whether they can recover to level the series or if Zimbabwe can pull off another upset in the second match. The chase is set to begin shortly.
