Tue Nov 26 04:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Nets Edge Out Kings in Fernandez’s Sacramento Return, 108-103

**SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) —** Cam Thomas poured in 34 points, leading the Brooklyn Nets to a 108-103 victory over the Sacramento Kings Sunday night. The win marked a successful return to Sacramento for Nets coach Jordi Fernandez, who served as an assistant coach for the Kings under Mike Brown for the past two seasons.

The Nets held a commanding 19-point lead in the first half, only to see it evaporate as the Kings mounted a comeback. The game remained tight, tied at 88-88 after three quarters. However, a strong defensive effort in the final period, holding the Kings to just 15 points, proved decisive for Brooklyn. Thomas contributed nine of his 34 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Nets fend off a late Kings rally. De’Aaron Fox paced the Kings with 31 points.

The Nets’ bench significantly outperformed Sacramento’s, outscoring them 44-9. Brooklyn also showcased impressive three-point shooting, hitting a season-high 13 in the first half and finishing at 48.7% (19 of 39) from beyond the arc.

The game was marred by injuries. The Nets were without Dennis Schroder (ankle soreness), while forward Noah Clowney left the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury. The Kings were also missing Malik Monk (ankle sprain) for the seventh consecutive game.

Despite the Kings’ resilience, coach Brown expressed his desire for the team to build upon early leads more consistently. Both teams now face back-to-back games, with the Kings hosting the Thunder Monday and the Nets traveling to face the Warriors.
