**Pathanamthitta, Kerala – November 25, 2024** – A 32-year-old man was killed instantly on Sunday when his motorcycle struck a rope strung across a road near Thiruvalla, Kerala. Saed, a resident of Alappuzha, was traveling home with his family after visiting relatives when the accident occurred on the Muthoor-Kuttappuzha road.
The rope, described as resembling a plastic wire, had been placed as a safety measure during tree-felling operations at a nearby government school. While some motorcyclists had earlier lifted the rope to pass, it remained a significant hazard. Saed’s wife and two children sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Eyewitnesses reported that the rope was removed immediately following the incident. Saed’s body remains at a hospital morgue pending a post-mortem examination. Police have stated that a case will be filed against those responsible for erecting the barrier, including the work contractor.
