Mon Nov 25 16:20:49 UTC 2024: ## Telangana BRS Leader Condemns Pharma Project Land Grab, Rallies Support for Farmers

**Mahabubabad, Telangana, November 25, 2024** – BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of acting as a “dictator” and forcibly acquiring land from poor farmers for a proposed Pharma Village Project in Lagcherla. Addressing a Maha Dharna in Mahabubabad on Monday, Rao expressed solidarity with farmers protesting the project for nine months.

Rao highlighted the farmers’ nine-month-long protest, criticizing the Chief Minister for neglecting their plight while making 28 trips to Delhi without bringing any benefits to the state. He cited a November 12th incident where locals protested against officials during a public hearing. Rao drew parallels to the farmers’ successful protest against the controversial farm laws, emphasizing their power to influence national policy.

He stated that the farmers, including tribal women, have appealed to the National Human Rights Commission and other agencies against the coercive land acquisition. Despite arrests, the protests continue. Rao also mentioned receiving threats from Congress leaders for organizing the Mahabubabad dharna, after being denied permission to protest in Lagcherla. He vowed to continue supporting the farmers despite the threats. The Mahabubabad location holds significance as it played a crucial role in the separate Telangana movement 14 years ago.
