**Ahmedabad, India –** The Gujarat Titans (GT) have significantly strengthened their squad for the upcoming IPL 2025 season, making a series of high-profile acquisitions at Sunday’s auction. The highlight of their spending spree was the acquisition of South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada for a hefty Rs 10.75 crore, beating out stiff competition from Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite the Punjab Kings possessing the right-to-match (RTM) card for Rabada, they opted against using it.
GT’s spending didn’t stop there. They also secured the services of England captain Jos Buttler (Rs 15.75 crore), and Indian pacers Mohammed Siraj (Rs 12.25 crore) and Prasidh Krishna (Rs 9.50 crore). The team further bolstered their roster with a selection of promising uncapped Indian players.
This spending spree leaves the Titans with a remaining purse of just Rs 15 lakh. Their retained players include Rashid Khan (Rs 18 crore), captain Shubman Gill (Rs 16.5 crore), B Sai Sudharsan (Rs 8.5 crore), Rahul Tewatia (Rs 4 crore), and M Shahrukh Khan (Rs 4 crore).
The additions of Rabada, Buttler, and other high-profile players represent a significant investment in the team’s bid for another IPL title. The full squad now boasts a formidable mix of established stars and emerging talent, positioning the Gujarat Titans as strong contenders for the 2025 season.
