**Mumbai, November 26, 2024** – Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has appealed to his supporters to refrain from large-scale gatherings in Mumbai, following the Mahayuti alliance’s landslide victory in the recent state assembly elections. In a late-night post on X, Shinde expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support but requested that no large demonstrations be organized in his honor. He emphasized the continued strength and unity of the Mahayuti, stating that the alliance’s government will be formed once again.

The Mahayuti coalition secured a resounding victory, winning 230 out of 288 seats in the election results announced on November 23rd. This marks the most significant victory for a ruling coalition in the state since the 1980s, with the BJP emerging as the single largest party, winning 132 seats. Shinde’s appeal comes amidst pressure from the Shiv Sena to reaffirm his position as Chief Minister.
