Tue Nov 26 03:28:35 UTC 2024: ## Delhi High Court to Hear Bail Plea for UAPA Accused
**NEW DELHI, November 26, 2024** – Student activist Gulfisha Fatima and Khalid Saifi, founder of ‘United Against Hate’, filed a bail application at the Delhi High Court on Monday. They are accused under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with the February 2020 Delhi riots. Their plea cites over four years of pre-trial incarceration and the slow pace of the trial, which is still in the charge framing stage. The court, comprising Justice Navin Chawla and Justice Shalinder Kaur, will hear the case alongside a similar plea from former JNU student Umar Khalid on December 6th. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Ms. Fatima, pointed out that her alleged associates, Devangana Kalita and Natasha Narwal, were granted bail in 2021.
