**Mumbai, India** – The Mumbai Indians (MI) have made a significant addition to their bowling attack, acquiring experienced Indian pacer Deepak Chahar in the 2025 IPL mega auction. The acquisition marks a strategic shift for the MI, according to Head Coach Mahela Jayawardene, who spoke to Jio Cinema following the auction’s second day.
Jayawardene highlighted Chahar’s impressive record at the Wankhede Stadium, emphasizing his ability to consistently take wickets, particularly during the powerplay. The coach explained that securing Chahar was a priority, outbidding rivals to bring in the proven talent.
“He comes to Wankhede and takes wickets for fun,” Jayawardene stated.
