Mon Nov 25 22:16:06 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan and Turkey Partner to Boost Artillery Ammunition Production

**KARACHI, PAKISTAN –** Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir today witnessed the signing of a significant agreement between Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) and Turkey’s Repkon Machine & Tools. The partnership will establish a new facility in Pakistan to significantly increase the country’s production capacity of 155mm artillery ammunition.

The deal, announced at the IDEAS-2024 defense exhibition, was highlighted during a visit by General Munir to the POF stall. Lt Gen Tahir Hameed Shah, Chairman of the POF Board, briefed the COAS on the project and other ongoing weapons and ammunition development initiatives. The increased production capacity is expected to substantially strengthen Pakistan’s defense capabilities. Senior officers from both Pakistan and Turkey were present at the contract signing ceremony.
