Tue Nov 26 06:35:48 UTC 2024: ## Double Explosion Rocks Chandigarh Nightclub; Extortion Suspected

**Chandigarh, India –** A double explosion rocked the Aura Club in Sector 26, Chandigarh, early Tuesday morning, shattering windows but causing no injuries. Police believe the incident may be linked to a recent wave of extortion targeting nightclub owners in the area.

The blasts, allegedly caused by two individuals on a motorcycle, occurred around 3:15 AM while the club was closed. A club employee told ANI that they heard a loud explosion and discovered the shattered windows upon exiting. While CCTV footage is unavailable, preliminary investigations suggest the incident is connected to ongoing extortion attempts by organized crime groups. Several club owners have reported receiving threats and some have been forced to pay protection money.

This incident follows the recent assault of a man associated with a club bouncer agency, who was attacked after refusing to pay extortion demands. Police are currently investigating both incidents and exploring possible links. The investigation is focusing on whether the attacks are connected and are part of a larger extortion racket.

The explosion comes as separate tragic news emerges from Morena, Madhya Pradesh, where an explosion destroyed three houses, resulting in two fatalities and at least five injuries. Rescue efforts are ongoing.
